BC VISITOR CENTRE STATISTICS PROGRAM

QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

Sign On

Open an internet browser window and visit: https://www.networkstats.tourismbc.com 

Enter your Visitor Centre Username (likely the name of your Visitor Centre) and password. 

If you don’t know your Sign-On, click "Help" on the bottom left of the screen and follow the instructions provided.

Sign Out

Once you are signed in, you may sign out by simply closing the internet browser window, or by clicking "Sign Out" located at the top, right corner of the screen.

A.     PRINT A DAILY FORM

Click the printer icon to print a clean daily statistics form.

B.     CHECK YOUR USER PROFILE

1. Click the right-most green tab, "View User Profile".

2. Review this information and follow instructions on the screen for any change required.

C.     ENTER ANY COMMUNITY SPECIFIC CATEGORY FIELD NAMES

1. Click the green tab, "Community Specific Categories".

This is where you have the opportunity to name up to ten specific fields you would like to collect data for your community. If you want to update, the latest collection fields that you have submitted will appear on your data entry form, starting from the next day.

D.     ENTER YOUR STATISTICS

1.  Click the tab, "Enter Statistics".

2.  You will be prompted for a date range.  This is limited to 14 days at a time.  If you have more than 14 days of date to enter, you will need to repeat these steps.  Date entry format is: DD/MM/YYYY.  You may also use click the calendar icon the right of the date entry boxes.

(If this is your first time using the system, you will be asked if you would like to enter any Community Specific Categories before being able to enter your statistics.)

3.  Complete all or any fields with your statistics.  You may use the arrow and enter keys to move from box to box.   

You MUST click the "Submit" button for your statistics to be saved.  You can change any statistic through the 8th day of the second following month.  e.g.) You have to enter your September statistics until November the 8th.

4.  You will be prompted to enter any anecdotal information following the submission of your statistics. This is optional. Use the "month/year" drop down box to change from month to month.

E.     EDIT or DELETE ENTRIES

1.      Select the "Edit/Delete Entries" green tab.

2.      Select the type of data you would like to adjust (Anecdotes or Statistics).

If you have chosen to edit or delete statistics, enter a date range as in "D" and go to the box(es) you would like to change using the mouse or arrow keys.  Continue as in "D".  Reminder: You may not alter statistics for any given month after the 8th of the second following month.

If you have chosen to edit or delete anecdotes, entries of the past 24 entries will appear. Click "Edit" or "Delete" to the right of the month and year you'd like to adjust and follow the instructions on the screen.

F.ONT:7pt 'Times New Roman'">     RUN A REPORT

1.  Select the "Run a Report" green tab.

2.  Chose one of the areas by clicking its corresponding circle. To run a report on only your Visitor Centre select, "Individual Visitor Centre", and your username from the drop down menu.

3.  Select the name of report you wish to view.  The names of the reports relate to how the statistics are summarized.

a) Daily: Statistics arranged by day.  These are not available on data before September 2007 statistics.

     b) Monthly: Summary of daily statistics added into monthly totals.

     c) Year to Date: A summary by month and quarter from Jan 1st of this year.

     d) Year over Year: Easy comparison of years displayed by month and quarter.

4.  Select the type of data you wish to view (Statistics or Anecdotes)

5.  Click the "Submit" button.

If your Statistics report criteria can be met, you will be asked to "Open" or "Save" the report.  Some reports may include pie charts.  Look out for the green tab named, "Charts", on an open report.  If it is there, click "Charts" to view a pie chart depiction of some key statistics.

G.     SAVING a REPORT

There are two ways to save a report.  The first is to select "Save" when you are presented with the options "Open" or "Save". 

The second is to "Open" the report, and then select "Save" from the "File" dropdown menu after the report has opened. 

Once you have saved a copy of a report, you can e-mail it elsewhere or manipulate it on your computer.  A saved report is simply an excel spreadsheet on your computer. 

Reports are available at any time using this online system on our last 10 years of col of collected data, so you don't have to worry about saving, printing or filing reports!

Returns to the home (starting) page.  If you select this when you are signed in, you will remain signed in.
